Gaming Gears open for viewing
The site isn't complete yet, but I've decided to make it available for viewing. For that reason, I'm writing this blog post so that users have at least something to read while they're here.
Rather than make this post completely pointless, I'll use it as an update as to what is done and what still needs to be done.
What is done
-The graphics are done. Thank you to Transcendent Studios for creating the layout and doing all of the graphics for me. It is really very appreciated.
-All of the front-end coding is complete. Unless I decide on minor changes, this is essentially how the site will look. Obviously with more content.
-Login/Register/Logout code is complete. So you can join now if you'd like to. The control panel doesn't have all the options it will eventually have, and there really isn't much you can do with a membership right now, but there will be soon.
-I could go on about all the minor things that have been finished, but it would be easier to just look around and see for yourself.
-One more thing. The contact and contribute pages are working, so if you have any suggestions or would like to help us out, you can within those pages.
What needs to be done
-The forum needs to be completed. I've decided to code the forum myself from the ground up. If it proves to be a bigger project than I think it will be, I'll use a temporary forum until I finish mine.
-Basic formatting of the text in the site. I still think I need to make things more organized and look nicer.
-Make more of the site interactive. I want the users to play a role in the site so I intend to add more than just the forum. I have a couple of ideas in mind, but if you have any ideas as to how to make Gaming Gears more interactive, please use the contact form to suggest some.
I'll have more updates as the site improves and moves on. Thank you for reading.
